Reminder for collection & removal of brush, grass clippings and garden waste

As a friendly reminder, here is the official code for the Village of Baldwinsville regarding the collection & removal of brush, grass clippings & garden waste:

Chapter 275. Solid Waste

Article II. Collection from Residential Property

  1. Schedule. Collection, removal and disposal of yard and garden waste shall be performed by the Village Department of Public Works, or its duly authorized agent, pursuant to a schedule as may be established and amended from time to time.
  2. Set-out requirements.

(1) Yard and garden waste, other than leaves, shall not be placed outside the curbline or on the paved portion of any street right-of-way.

(2) Yard and garden waste materials shall be so placed so they do not interfere with vehicular or pedestrian traffic on sidewalks.

(3) Brush or leaf piles shall not be larger than 10 feet long, three feet wide and three feet high. Brush shall not exceed three feet in length and five inches in diameter.

(4) Grass clippings must be containerized in an appropriate covered metal or plastic receptacle clearly marked “grass clippings.” The weight of said containers shall not exceed 75 pounds.

(5) Yard and garden waste comprised of hay, straw, garden vines, brush and the like shall be placed in separate piles from leaves.

(6) All yard and garden waste shall be free from excessive dirt quantities or other foreign objects.

  1. Prohibited items. The following items are excluded and prohibited from being set out with yard and garden waste for pickup: glass, plastics, plastic bags, metals, building materials, tires, concrete, stones, rocks, gravel, sod, dirt, furniture, bedding, hot water heaters, appliances, stumps, construction and demolition debris, hazardous waste, large household furnishings, major appliances, medical waste, material generated by paid tree contractors from residential property.
  2. Rejected materials. Yard and garden waste materials not conforming to the requirements of this article shall be rejected for pickup. Upon receipt of notice of yard and garden waste rejection, the waste generator shall remove said rejected items within 24 hours from the curb and shall separate, sort, or bring the material into conformance with requirements of this article before it is placed again at the curbline for the next scheduled pickup day.

Subject Line – Greater Baldwinsville: Joint Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP)

Dear Resident or Organization,

I am reaching out because the Town of Lysander, Town of Van Buren, and Village of Baldwinsville are developing a Joint Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) that will establish a shared vision and strategic plan to guide future waterfront improvements, economic development, public access, environmental protection, and recreation opportunities along the Seneca and Oswego Rivers.

An Open House for this project will take place on September 30th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, at the Baldwinsville Public Library (33 E Genesee St, Baldwinsville, NY 13027).  The Open House will be a drop-in-style event. Community members are encouraged to stop by at any time to browse project displays, meet with the project team, and share ideas. New! E-Bike & Scooter Regulations

🚲⚡ NEW E-BIKE & E-SCOOTER REGULATIONS VILLAGE OF BALDWINSVILLE 🛴⚡
The Village of Baldwinsville has established regulations for the operation of e-bikes and e-scooters within the Village. These regulations are designed to promote the safety of riders, pedestrians, motorists, and our entire community.
Please know the rules before you ride:
• AGE: No person under 16 years old may operate or ride as a passenger on an e-bike or e-scooter. A person 16 or older may not knowingly allow someone under 16 to operate or ride as a passenger.
• E-BIKES: Only Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are permitted. Class 3 and non-compliant e-bikes are prohibited within the Village.
• E-BIKE SPEED: Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes may not exceed 20 MPH.
• E-SCOOTER SPEED: E-scooters may not exceed 15 MPH.
• WHERE YOU CAN RIDE: E-bikes and e-scooters may be operated on Village streets and highways with a posted speed limit of 30 MPH or less, subject to the other restrictions in the law.
• NO SIDEWALK RIDING: E-bikes and e-scooters may not be operated on sidewalks, except when necessary to enter or leave a driveway or roadway — and then only at walking speed.
• NO RECKLESS RIDING: Riders may not operate recklessly, carelessly, negligently, at an unsafe speed, or in a manner that unreasonably endangers pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, or property.
• NO RIDING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: E-bikes and e-scooters may not be operated while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both.
• NO SPEED/POWER TAMPERING: E-bikes and e-scooters may not be modified to exceed the maximum motor-assisted speed permitted by law.
• E-SCOOTER PASSENGERS: E-scooters are limited to one person at a time.
• NO TOWING OR ATTACHING: Riders may not attach themselves or their e-bike/e-scooter to a moving motor vehicle.
• HELMETS: Operators and passengers who are 16 or 17 years old must wear an approved helmet. Helmet use is strongly encouraged for everyone.
• LIGHTS AT NIGHT: When riding from one-half hour after sunset until one-half hour before sunrise, e-bikes and e-scooters must have a white front light visible from at least 500 feet and a red rear light or reflector visible from at least 300 feet.
• YIELD TO PEDESTRIANS: Riders must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, including at crosswalks, on multi-use paths, and in parking areas.
